“DIARY OF A WINNER”

FENWAY'S FIRST TEAM

August 13, 1912
... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox team and the St. Louis Browns were guests of B.F. Keith's Theatre management tonight. Because of the good fellowship displayed by the Browns last week, when they took three of the four games from Washington, it was decided by the Red Sox that they would like to share their invitation to Keith's for baseball night at the theatre.

The Red Sox will have the boxes on one side of the theater, while the Browns will smile at them from the boxes across the auditorium. Tris Speaker's mother, who has indeed been a real mascot to the team, will go along as a chaperone. While traveling on the road, manager Jake Stahl did all he could to have the boys attend the theaters in the other cities, taking their minds off baseball for a few hours.
