THE 1914 "MIRACLE" BRAVES

July 16, 1914 ... The first game of the series with the Cincinnati Reds series was called off because of a heavy storm.  After 3 1/2 innings the sky grew so dark that the outfielders could not see the ball as it left the bat of the batters.  Within minutes a fierce storm started and quickly put the field under water.  The score was even at 1 to 1 at the time. The were Dick Crutcher for the Braves and Leon Ames for the Reds.
