October 13, 1986 ...
No game scheduled ... Red Sox center fielder Dave Henderson
will be in the starting lineup as Tony Armas' injury has guaranteed
Henderson a place in the outfield even before the heroics. Armas
severely sprained his right ankle in the second inning of Sunday's
7-6 victory. Trainer Charlie Moss said the condition didn't appear
serious, and with treatment the swelling will subside. Armas asked to
be removed from Sunday's game.
Henderson is not 100 percent, either. He was limping
slightly Sunday because of a bruised knee, but is eager to play.
The Red Sox held an unstructured workout, with the emphasis
on honing skills and mending bruises. The Angels had a late-morning flight from
the West Coast and skipped any formal workout. For those Red Sox who did show
up, the mood was businesslike.
Wade Boggs, batting .238 in the American League
Championship Series, says his ankle, knee and hamstring are bothering him. He
hurt the knee diving for a ball Sunday and hurt the ankle when he fouled a ball
off himself in Anaheim.
Roger Clemens threw in the bullpen today. He is Boston's
seventh-game starter if the Sox win Game 6, and McNamara said he would not mind
a day or two of rain
Look for something new at Fenway if it rains tomorrow.
Groundskeeper Joe Mooney had his crew haul out some new footage of tarp that
will cover both the infield and outfield.
Parking in the underground lots at the Prudential will be
available at a cost of $4 for Game 6 of the ALCS tonight and for any other Red
Sox postseason home games. Ticket-holders can park their cars, then present
their stub from the game along with the money upon leaving. The parking capacity
is 3,000.
