BOSTON RED SOX ...
THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 3
A
SUBWAY SERIES DISAPPEARS ...

September 27, 1948 ... No game scheduled ... Only a few Sox regulars showed up at the ballpark.  Trainer Ed Frolick was happy that Bobby Doerr didn't feel the need to show up for a check-up. The Sox management sent out a notice to season ticket holders, stating that they would be eligible for as many tickets as they had purchased before the season.
