August 30, 1948 ... No game scheduled ... Bobby Doerr is out of the lineup for the first time this year, as he nurses a pulled muscle in his left thigh.  Doerr was at the park receiving treatment from trainer Eddie Froelich.

The Sox play the Tigers tomorrow and will be without thirdbaseman George Kell, who has a broken jaw, suffered in a doubleheader against the Yankees, yesterday.
