BOSTON RED SOX ...
THE
CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 3
A
SUBWAY SERIES DISAPPEARS ...
August 16, 1948
... No
game scheduled ... The sagging spirits of the Red Sox were lifted by
the encouraging news that Billy Goodman's stomach troubles were
nothing serious. He should be back with the team in a few days.
Jake Jones is expected to take over his spot at first base.
Many of the Sox players, after spending the day with their families,
went over to Braves Field to see the Dodgers game with the Braves.
Both Joe Dobson and Jack Kramer reported that their arm injuries feel
much better. |
