BOSTON RED SOX ...
THE
CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 3
A
SUBWAY SERIES DISAPPEARS ...
June 26, 1948 ... The
Red Sox and Browns were rained out after a 1/2 hour delay at
Sportsman's Park. It was the third rainout on the current road
trip. The rains came suddenly after clear blue skies were
predominate for most of the morning.
Dizzy Dean, talking before the game, said he liked the Sox chances
because of their powerful bats. But in the last 15 games, even though
the Sox had won 11, the starting pitcher was knocked out of the box
11 times. |
