BOSTON RED SOX ...
THE
CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 3
A
SUBWAY SERIES DISAPPEARS ...
April 20, 1948 ... No
game scheduled ... The Red Sox worked out at Fenway Park
behind closed doors after a "skull session". There was a
specialized drill for thirdbasemen Johnny Pesky and Stan Spence, and
also with Spence and Jake Jones at first base.
Jack Kramer had a long workout with pitching coach Larry Woodall.
Pitchers remained in the outfield shagging flyballs.
The Red Sox were honored at the annual sports dinner of the Boston
Boot and Shoe Club at the Statler. |
