“DIARY OF A WINNER”

EDDIE COLLINS

THE LAST ONE FOR 86 YEARS

August 13, 1918 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox did not have any practice today.  The White Sox are in town and Captain Eddie Collins is here, but will leave the club after the series to report for service with the Marine Corp.

The Red Sox remain in tact.  Nobody was released nor added.  Nobody received any news from their draft boards.

Braggo Roth was suspended for the rest of the season by Indians Manager Lee Fohl, because of indifferent playing.  The Indians are two games behind the Red Sox.  The Washington Nationals swept a doubleheader from Philadelphia and are now only 1 1/2 games behind Cleveland.
