“DIARY OF A WINNER”

THE LAST ONE FOR 86 YEARS

August 11, 1918 ...  No game scheduled ... Today's game with the Yankees was rained out.  The Indians split a doubleheader with Chicago, so the Sox still have a three game lead in the American League.

Carl Mays is still in town, awaiting reply from his draft board.  It has been learned that a number of Sox players have been reclassified as 1A, but all intend to stick with the club until they hear from their local draft boards.
