“DIARY OF A WINNER”

JACK COFFEY

THE LAST ONE FOR 86 YEARS

August 9, 1918 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox arrived home today from Detroit.  Carl Mays and Sam Jones arrived yesterday to allow them to rest before pitching their games against New York.  The Yankees arrived without Miller Huggins, who will join the team today.

Former Brave, Jack Coffey will join the Red Sox after being released by the Tigers.  Ping Bodie has left the Yankees to take a job in the shipyards.
