“DIARY OF A WINNER”

THE LAST ONE FOR 86 YEARS

May 22, 1918 ... The weather forced the cancellation of the Red Sox and Indians game at Fenway Park.  Manager Ed Barrow is considering the possibility of signing former Red Sox secondbaseman, Steve Yerkes.

Babe Ruth is still at the Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary.  He will probably not be able to plat until the Sox head out on their road trip next week.

Indians, fitstbaseman Eddie Miller, received his draft notice yesterday. Joe Wood will take his place at first base.
