“DIARY OF A WINNER”

THE LAST ONE FOR 86 YEARS

May 14, 1918 ... The final game in the series with the Browns was postponed due to rain and wet grounds.

President Frazee met with Manager Ed Barrow to discuss picking up some additional players.  They were disappointed that Rube Foster refused to sign with the Yankees, because the Sox lost outfielder Hugh High and infielder Zinn Beck in the transaction.

The Sox sent southpaw Harry Thormahlen was sent to the Toronto club.  He had been the Red Sox batting practice pitcher.
