BACK-TO-BACK WORLD SERIES CHAMPS

September 3, 1916 ... No game scheduled ... With the day off, the Red Sox went their various ways.  Ernie Shore, Del Gainor and Babe Ruth went over to Newark to see the doubleheader against Baltimore.  Harry Hooper, Hal Janvrin and Carl Mays are weekend guests of President Lannin at Garden City.  Hooper and Janvrin are excellent golfers and took to the links while Carl Mays is an excellent tennis player and played Paul Lannin in a few sets.  Sam Jones and Sam Agnew took off to Coney Island to go to the beach, while Weldon Wycoff went home to visit in Williamsport, PA.  Following the Yankees doubleheader, the team will leave on the 9PM train for Philadelphia.
