WORLD CHAMPS AGAIN

August 17, 1915 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox left for Chicago at 6PM last night.  The Detroit Tigers took two from Cleveland, cutting the Red Sox lead to 1 1/2 games.  The Boston Braves unveiled their new ballpark today.  Braves Field is the largest stadium in the country.  47,000 fans, the largest ever to see a baseball game, were present.  The Royal Rooters and the 9th Regiment Band were on hand behind the Braves dugout.  The 1914 championship flag was raised above the new yard.
